Adding a Shared Mailbox

A shared mailbox in Microsoft 365 is a type of mailbox that allows multiple users to access and manage a single email address and its associated mailbox without needing individual user licenses. It’s designed for collaborative scenarios, such as team inboxes. If you have permission to access a shared mailbox, here is how to access it:

How to Access a Shared Mailbox

Outlook Desktop on PC:

The mailbox appears automatically in the left pane.

Outlook Desktop on MAC:

Click “File”, “Open”, “Other User’s Folder”. Search for the mailbox and then highlight it and click “Open”.

The mailbox will appear in the left pane.

In Outlook on the Web:

Click your profile picture, select “Open another mailbox,” and enter the shared mailbox’s email address.

How to Send Emails from the Shared Mailbox:

Create a new email in Outlook.
Click the From field (if not visible, go to View > Show From in the menu bar).
Select the shared mailbox’s email address from the dropdown.

How to Export Photos from Vidigami

Log in to Vidigami by clicking the Vidigami icon in the Everyday Tools & Information category on the frontpage of Dragons’ Gate:

You Can Only Export Individual Photos:

Locate the photo you wish to download. This can be done by browsing through albums or using the search feature to find specific images tagged with names or events.

Click on the photo thumbnail to open it in a larger view. Look for the Download button, located at the top right corner of the screen, and click it to save the photo directly to your device.

Review this notification:

Click Download. The photo will be downloaded to your device.

 

How to Export your OneDrive Files

To export all or some of your files from OneDrive, you can use either the web interface or the OneDrive client. The OneDrive client is preferred as it is faster.

1. Install OneDrive Client, if you haven’t already. Download and install the OneDrive application on your Mac computer

2. Sync Your Files: Log into the client and choose to sync all or specific folders from your OneDrive.

3. Access Local Files: Once synced, your OneDrive files will be available in a folder on your computer:

Alternate clicking the OneDrive link or folders or files, allows you to download them to your computer.  Click Always Keep on This Device:


4. Copy Files: You can then copy or move these files to another location on your computer or to an external hard drive or other cloud platform as needed.

Additional Tips:
You cannot download OneNote notebooks directly.

If you need to download large amounts of data, be aware of download limits (e.g., 250GB per file and 10,000 files at a time) to avoid interruptions.

 

How to Export Email from Outlook on Mac

To export data from Outlook on Mac, follow these steps to create an Outlook for Mac Data File (.olm):

1. Open Outlook: Launch the Microsoft Outlook application on your Mac.

2. Access the Export Option:
Click on the File menu in the top left corner.
Select Export from the dropdown menu:

If Export is grayed out, change to Legacy Outlook:

Click on Outlook then Legacy Outlook:

After Outlook reloads, the Export option should be available.

3. Select Items to Export:
You can choose specific items or categories to export. To export everything, check all the boxes:

4. Choose a location on your Mac to save the exported file and give it a name, then click Save:

The items are exported to the olm file:

Depending on the size of your data, the export may take a few moments. Once done, you will have an .olm file containing your exported data.

The .olm file can be imported back into another instance of Outlook for Mac or transferred to another computer running Outlook for Mac.

If you need to convert this .olm file to PST format for use in Windows Outlook, you will need to use a third-party OLM to PST converter tool, as Outlook for Mac does not support direct export to PST format.

HS Wellness Tai Chi (Taiji)

In May, I was fortunate enough to be invited to lead a session as part of a high school wellness initiative. I guided the participants through a series of exercises that integrated breath, mind, and movement, the fundamental principles of Tai Chi. Typically, it would take several lessons to introduce these concepts, but I believed that by carefully selecting and sequencing exercises, participants could gain a taste of Tai Chi’s benefits. The essence of Tai Chi lies not in its physical appearance, but in the internal transformations it induces.

In the photo we are doing the first of the five-loosening exercise from Huang Xing Xian’s Yang style. These exercises are designed to prepare the body and mind for the more complex forms by gently stretching and mobilizing the joints, while also cultivating awareness and control of the breath. By starting with these foundational movements, participants can begin to experience the mind-body connection that is central to Tai Chi practice.
