I’ve been working in educational establishments since 1999, as an IT generalist. Starting in a technical college in the UK, I now work at the International School of Beijing (ISB).
My current position concentrates on virtualization, active directory, single sign-on, security, open-source software, data integration and WordPress.
Although my focus has been infrastructure in schools, I love to get into the classroom and regularly work with teachers. There are many instances where I have worked with teachers to envisage technological solutions to pedagogical opportunities. Although I am not a teacher, I find pedagogy fascinating, the more I know about teaching and learning, the better I can provide support to my school.
I enjoy playing Badminton and have coached middle school Badminton.
I have a lot of other interests, such as environmental sustainability, woodland management, architecture, green issues, traditional archery and Tai Chi. I’m a doodler, I like to design things; my new favourite material is Sugru. I am a design thinker; even before I knew what design thinking was!
