Stretch and Explore:
I will try using cardboard because the treasure chest has spots that are bent so cardboard are easy to bend. Also, I think to express my ideas, and design would be better on the cardboard. If I don’t like the color of the cardboard, I can cover it with paint because the color is light, but clays can show, and make it roughly.
Express:
I think the letters and diaries I made with friends are important because I did it with friends living far away from me. For the idea, I would cut out paper or paint the shape of envelopes.
The idea of making the lock working inspired me because I never thought the cardboard lock to work as a real lock. I liked the way of making the connection of cardboard look like a design. I learned how to connect cardboards in a new way, and I also learned how to make a lock.
Engage and Persist
The problem I had was plaster not sticking together. When I was making a mask on my face, the plaster can’t stick together. It was because I couldn’t see well what I was doing, so I didn’t have good control. When I did it on the face model, it helped me because I can see it, so I had nice control of sticking the plaster together. I can control the thickness of the plaster and it was easy for me to know where I should put more.
Develop Craft:
I used plaster and paint the most. Plaster was used to make my mask, and for decorations I mostly used paint. The techniques I used were splatter paint and drop paint. I improved by trying out small pieces of plaster to make my mask successful. Not to make mistakes like putting too much water or too much paint when using the splatter technique, I practiced on a separate paper and made sure of the amount of paint and water was enough. I did the same with the dropping paint. Because of practice, I am satisfied with my work.
Envision:
I am making my mask with plaster, and I am going to paint, splatter paint, put glitter, and linen rolls.
Stretch and Explore:
I tried to use Plaster because I thought my idea would fit best if I used plaster. So I decided to make my mask with plaster. I splattered paint, black and purple because, in my opinion, black and purple represent darkness and hope.
