The artist Alexander Jacques uses the repetition technique to make each photograph unique. It makes it an abstraction. The artist usually depicts the picture of repetition of constructions with a brighter tone. There are no darker tones like grey or black colored backgrounds, yet more like blue, red, and yellow colors. Moreover, the repetition includes several different shapes and lines. For example, the fourth photo consists of the repetition of the horizontal lines. However, there is also a repetition of the round-shaped poles of the building.

Explain why you have chosen this photographer

I have chosen this artist because this artists’ photographs always include the element of repetition. For me, the repetition gives me a pleasant feeling when I look at the photographs. In addition, it looks simple in general. Furthermore, the artist usually uses a lighter or brighter tone instead of using a darker tone which I also like.

I have chosen this quote from Alexander Jacques because it shows why Alexander takes repetition photos. Some might think it’s ugly but he thinks it is interesting and amazing. I also agree with that. It also shows how repetition were created by the buildings in NYC.
