Reflection:
Personal response (real-world connection/reactions to the story):
- the book was very interesting in the sense that the author told the story from a dual point of view. it was really interesting to see how different but similar Dani and Claire’s lives are, and how their friendship journey went from not really liking each other to helping and supporting each other through their problems. it was really nice to see how the two girls friendship grew from when they first met each other.
Questions:
- What happened after the girls went to the police station?
- How come the girls didn’t talk to each other sooner?
- What happened to Mr Colloney after he got taken away by the security guards?
Ideas/topics/questions to be used for the essay:
- I really like the journey that Claire and Dani went through to get to the point they are at in their friendship by the end of the book
- the moment where Dani got a call from another girl that had also experienced Mr Colloney sexually assaulting her was a good moment where Dani knew that she wasn’t alone and that this had happened to someone before
- when Dani and Claire found out that they were both going through similar situations, they were really sorry that they didn’t take the time to talk to each other because they thought the other wouldn’t understand what they were going through
- how the author used a dual point of view to show the evolution of Claire and Dani’s friendship
