Roberto Garcia was a bystander of the M-26-7 event, he was one of the poor, who disliked the current government, but eventually, he was forced to join the government camp of the dictator Batista and involved in the Cuban revolution. Cuba, one of the largest single island located in the northern caribbean, was a colony of spain from the 15th century till the Spanish-American War in 1898. After, Cuba was occupied by the United States for four years, and finally gain nominal independence as their protectorate. Through the help of the United States, Cuba’s economy gradually stabled through tourism and sugar. 1952, Fulgencio Batista and a group of officers culminated in a coup, they arrested senior military officers seized key government building in Havana, the nation soon was under control of Batista’s dictatorship. The corruption and the oppression under his rule caused public dissatisfaction and led the July 26th event led by Fidel Castro and the Cuban Revolution. After the revolution, there were several changes as well as continuities. Continuities were, during Castro’s rule, it was still dictatorship and sugar was still the national priority. The first thing that Castro did when he  in came power was to reform the Agrarian Law, establishes a vigorous literacy and education program, established universal healthcare which all benefited the poor. The Cuban Revolution has faced many challenges when people had conflict between each other , and had many continuities that did not change over time.
