Formal Elements in photography, are visual features that can make a simple subject, into something extraordinary.

Schools Need to Ban Cellphones

Schools need to ban cellphones. They are a distraction in class, and a cheating took for acessments . Banning cell phones can allow the student to be more focused in class , and have honest grades. Though  i can also allow students to have a good communication device.

Cellphones are such a distraction during class time, therefore should should be banned in schools. According to oxfordlearning, 20% of inc class time includes social media usage and texting. With student on phones 20% of the class time. That can only mean 20% of class time not working affectively. In a graph shown by California State University, it shows how a text message can affect the heart rate, attention, and brain. The graph shows that when a person hears a notification, their heart rate jumps. Afterwards, if the message or notification isn’t checked, the heart rate stays above average. The brain gives the person temptations and holding back temptations keep your mind on your phone, which turns to losing focus in class.

Despite the fact that cellphones have many negative impacts on school life, cellphones can also be used as a communication device to call home in an emergency or to call parents after school for pick-up, rather than using a school phone. If everyone called after school since there was suddenly and event for example, that would be a long time waiting and really inconvenient. Jagramjosh also mentioned a simalar situation with a public school in the US, how student had an assignment to finish but there was a long line. They had to wait for at least 20 minutes before it was their turn.

Phones need to be banned in school. Phones are distracting student too much and the amount of cheating is growing faster as technology evolves. Phones need to be banned for student to have an honest learning environment and one that students can focus in class.

Who is Percy Jackson and what type of a person is he in Chapter 1?

In chapter 1 of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians”, right before the trip has started, Percy had stated, “I hope the trip would be okay. At least I hoped that for once I wouldn’t get in trouble.” [Pg. 2] From Percy’s thoughts, you could tell automatically that this wasn’t the first trip that Percy has been on, the author, Riordian, also mentioned that, “he hoped”, meaning that there was nervousness inside him and also mentioned that, “I wouldn’t get in trouble”, meaning that he was nervous about the fact he wouldn’t get in trouble again. From the fact he thought he was going to get in trouble, he had gotten into trouble before. As a matter of fact, on the trip, Percy had thought “I knew that was coming.” [Pg. 7] when Mrs. Dodd’s “caught” him “pushing” Nancy, and “I did the safe thing.” [12] as Mrs. Dodd’s was talking with percy about what was wrong and right. The two sentences are used when someone has experienced, in this case, trouble, multiple times. He said, “I knew”, that meant that he had previous knowledge about this case. He also said, “I did the safe thing.” Which helped the readers know that he knows “the safe thing.” The author had used these quotes to give evidence as to how Percy has gotten into trouble before and show how many times, in this case, he had gotten use to this, being able to know front and back.

[pg.2] “I hope the trip would be okay. At least I hoped that for once I wouldn’t get in trouble.”

[Pg. 7] “I knew that was coming.”

[Pg. 12] “I did the safe thing.”
