We started with a solar panel to collect sunlight.

The solar panels have the advantage of being good-looking, sturdy, and easier to connect to wires. But then we changed our mind, and the solar energy collected by the solar panels was not intoxicating enough to power the lamp.

We replaced the solar panels, and this one collects sunlight faster.

To better store electricity, we use two batteries, connect them to switches and solar panels, and use special tools to organize the battery’s electricity to the solar panels.

After we finished this part, we found that the wire was not strong enough or long enough. So we reinforced the wire and joined the two wires together.

In the process, we learned how to use different tools for different purposes. After asking the teacher, we learned that we must be careful about this part, otherwise there will be problems with the wire later.

After we hooked up the inside, we decided to start designing the outside of the lamp. We decided to use something solid for the lamp case. In the end, we decided to use hard plastic. It has three benefits: the first is that hard plastic unlike iron, plastic thermal conductivity is poor, so when the lamp is inside the heat, the outside will not feel very hot. The second is that hard plastics have a smooth surface and feel very good. The third reason is that hard plastic is easier to make, and we can use a machine to cut out the shape we want, including the size.

And then I started measuring the solar panels, the cells, in order to make the size of the shell. We wanted to make a portable table lamp, so we made the shape of the table lamp precisely.

We decided to use Laser cut for our shell because it is more accurate and simple.

After making the case, we decided to assemble the case with hot glue and put the lamp inside.

After we get the shell done, we need to connect the solar panel to the shell of the battery. We wanted the sunlamp on top to be movable, so we added a piece of wood in the middle and connected the wood to the wiggle point. We use super glue. It takes a long time to dry.

Then we finished the assembly, and the solar lamp achieved the effect we expected. We decided to add some practical details.

We installed anti-slip stickers for the bottom of the lamp, and we adjusted the wires so that users can control the lamp without switching it. When the user turns on the lamp, the lamp automatically lights up, and when the user folds the lamp, the lamp goes off. This feature provides our products with greater technology and ease of use.

Finally, we finished the production of the lamp, which embodies the energy conversion, and also achieved our goal.

This is my cardholder, the reason I made this is because the cardholder school gave use is easy to break and this can carry the card.  There is a lightning LOGO on the back of the item. Through this design, I learned to sew, if I could start over from the beginning I would add more function. The thing that made me proud is I can put the card into it successfully. The most important decision I made is changed my project easier to make.
