Nightfall beholds a village, they have been staying on the island for years, and for the protagonists, their entire life. Day and Night lasts long, years of time, and it was almost nightfall. Bound to leave the island, all the villagers were preparing to leave, but one of the main characters have been lost without a trace. In an attempt to go save their dear friend, the other protagonists search for their friend at the brink of leave and end up stuck on the island when night fell.
This novel, Nightfall describes the adventures of the protagonists as they find their way out of this island in the dark, uncovering strange decisions and actions of the villagers and the reason behind why night-time was not to be safe. As a novel that is categorized as adventurous and fiction, it is not as relatable and realistic to that of ones’ daily life, and that part is of its charm. Though a different setting from my personal life, it shows similar dilemmas one has to face and regrets that come with them. The protagonists are not fully developed, and have their own flaws, lying because of pride, heedless at times. But also have remorse for their wrongdoings, and are willing to take one for the team.
Although a book with great descriptions and details, the only flaw I personally find in the plot is where the rising action begins, it is quite unreasonable for humans as a whole to risk themselves in search of items, especially under a time limit and no confidence over the attempt. One of the main protagonists risked his own, and his friend’s lives due to his venture for an item that isn’t his.
