Summary:

Emily geiger is a girl that is 16 years old, it was the time when the revolutionary war started. Emily really wanted to fight for her country ,but at that time woman and children were not allowed to fight so she always thought “If I were a men” her dad would always disagree with the fact that she wanted to go to war, he said it was too dangerous. Emily didn’t tell her father and went to find general Greene, the general said that they needed a spy and Emily volunteered herself, the general disagreed at first, because some of the bravest men refuse to spy for the general but Emily actually wanted to try, the general gave her a note to give Sumter.

Emily ripped a corner of her dress and stuck the note in and sewed it back, just in case the enemy’s searched her body, perhaps they won’t find it. Emily rode to a farm where a couple welcomed her in, but she heard their suspicion in their voices once she went to a room, and Mr. Preston had said that maybe she was a spy, but Mrs Preston refused to believe him, she said “she’s just a young girl! She can’t be a spy!” Bill mink tried to capture Emily in the middle of the night but Emily heard all his plans and when she was sure they were asleep she left quietly without them noticing. She found a leader of the enemy when she was riding and he asked her questions, but Emily answered them when she blushed so the leader was still unconvinced. they put her in a house but she knew there was no escape this time, so she ate the note and left her dress ripped. When a woman searched her she noticed the ripped dress and Emily convinced her that it was from her riding. And when she left she told the general to be careful not to capture anyone they want. Emily stopped by some of her friends house and they informed her that Bill mink is coming for her! Jacob, Simpson’s son led her towards Sumter’s house. She finished telling him the message and her spying was a great success!
