The story The Aged Mother basically talked about the government made unbelievable laws. One of them is old people are separated and abandoned in the deep mountain in the middle of Japan. Which has many potential hazards. One family showed love in the story. The old woman was very concerned about her son’s safety and she showed her love by telling him how she loved her son very much. But to obey the law, the only thing she can do is watching her son waving hand to her and disappear in her eyesight with tears.

In the story The aged Mother, the author believes that love is usually important for family communications. Basho preps the quote “The eyes of the old mother were not so dim but that they noted the reckless hastening from one path to another, and her loving heart grew anxious” (Basho 1). It shows that how sad was the aged mother when she will never see her son again. Further in the story, small worries had become concerns: “‘Let not thine eyes be blinded, my son.’ She said. ‘The mountain road is full of dangers. Look carefully and follow the path which holds the piles of twigs. They will guide you to the familiar path farther down’” (Basho 2) shows that the mother just loved her son very much and she could not go away without crying and sobbing. Thus, the author believes love is always important for family communications.

Banning single-use plastics is an effective way to save our oceans because it will save marine animals and make less pollutions. The plastics float into the middle of the sea and form a huge garbage patch. The oceans garbage patch covers more than a million square kilometers and it killed millions of marine lives. People really need to protect our marine ecosystem now even some says banning single-use plastics will only stop the problems in the ocean.

The first reason why banning single-use plastics is an effective way to save our oceans is plastics are destroying our marine ecosystems. For example, according to ed.ted.com/lessons/what-really-happens-to-the-plastics-you-throw-away-emma-bryce, “After a few months lost at sea, bottle two floats into an area in the ocean that has a lot of trashes around it and it caused the animals death” can show that how did the plastics affect the marine animals. Plastics float from California to Japan created Great Pacific Patch. In this area, seagulls were trapped in the garbage, turtles eat the plastics pieces and starve to death. Also, fish ate the plastics and bigger fish ate the fish with plastics in their gut. The GPGP is also very enormous. According to theoceancleanup.com/great-pacific-garbage-patch, “The Great Pacific Garbage Patch covers an area twice the size of France.” can show that these plastics already covers a huge area in the ocean and it is now keep destroying the environment and our marine ecosystem, so if we ban single use plastics now, we might save our marine ecosystems.

The second reason why banning single-use plastics is an effective way to save our oceans is making less pollutions to the ocean. For example, “the world has a problem on banning single-use plastics because of water pollution. It’s a better way to save our oceans.”can show that plastic pollution already destroyed the environment a lot and it caused a major and nationwide problem. Another example, “some of that waste winds up in the ocean between Hawaii and California.”(Both of these evidence are from nationalgeographic.com/environment/2018/07/ocean-plastic-pollution-solutions/)can show that if you throw a plastic bag on the road. A wind might even blow it into the sea also. This shows that banning single-use plastics is an effective way to save our oceans because people could make less pollutions to our ocean.

Some said that banning single-use plastics is not an effective way to save our oceans because it will only stop the pollution getting worse, but it will not stop the pollution. For example, “reduction in plastic use will impact on the environment”(business.financialpost.com) show that it will only stop the problem getting worse and the problem from plastics pollution will not stop. However, it will at least stop the problem getting worse despite it will not stop the problem. “In fact, some alternative products, although branded as green alternatives, have a significantly higher total environmental impact once the production process is factored in.”(business.financialpost.com) can show that banning plastics are still good for the ocean. Also, it will protect our environment and even ourselves to not eating the fish that has plastics in their gut.

Now, people know that plastics has the majority of the pollution in the ocean, so banning single-use plastics is an effective way to save our oceans. It killed millions of marine lives and making pollutions. Once, if people started to ban single-use plastics. Our marine ecosystem will be saved by us.
