I am currently on page 153 of Regretting You by Colleen Hoover. It is told from two perspectives, Morgan and her daughter Clara and discusses their life after Morgan’s husband Chris dies in a wreck with Morgan’s sister Jenny after an affair. It follows the mother-daughter dynamic as Morgan discovers Jenny’s newborn baby was not fathered by Jenny’s fiance.

My favourite book I’ve read this month is The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid. It’s a historical fiction novel that follows a fictional famous Hollywood star, Evelyn Hugo, and why she had seven husbands, her whole life story and ultimately who her one true love was. This book had a dual timeline/dual perspective discussing Evelyn’s past life and her experience, as well as Monique, the journalist, and how she applies Evelyn’s experiences and life lessons to her own life. This book also discusses some issues in the world and Hollywood, like being Cuban in Hollywood, looking a certain way, biphobia and more.

The book I most recently finished was The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller. This book is a Greek Mythology novel discussing the growth of Achilles and his friendship turned relationship with Patroclus. Though I was never really into Greek Mythology, this book provided a clear explanation and allowed me to get attached to the characters and live in the moment with them. This novel shows how gender played a significant role in power in Greek history, proves that various types of love are necessary for life and ultimately reveals the growth, change, and redemption people can make.
