Street Photography-statement of intent

Moments:

The message I want to portray in my photographs for this project is the thoughts of memories and the little moments in life that make people happy. So the mood I would like my photos to be in is cheerful and warm, which people can get from the black and white photos. I want the photos to feel like a glimpse of moments that stay with people like the concept of ‘past memories’. The inspiration for this project is from Gianni Berengo Gardin, who I feel portrays a similar message I want in some of his work, he uses layering, having perspective in the composition of his photos, and also focuses a lot on the background and people. Most of his photos have full-body images of people. A technique I would want to try is “fishing” where I would stay in one place and wait for moments I want to capture and also look for interesting out-of-place things. I would also like to achieve a balance of back and white through my images to make the photos look balanced. Layering is also something I would like to try with the black-and-white concept. Overall I want my photos to be simple but meaningful, telling others that simple moments can be meaningful as well.
