February 17th: started to make the circuit that connects the water pump, switch, and batteries.
- Finished soldering them together but wasn’t that stable
February 21st: collected and brought the rest of my materials, drilled holes in the plastic bottle, and started to make the water fountain by connecting the water pump to the bottle using a tube.
- Did not work that well and water did not reach high enough to go out
February 23rd: Made a new smaller bottle for the fountain and hot glued a section (as a prototype) for the water to go up as well as attached straws to the holes to make the flow better. Went outside to collect more rocks.
- tested the smaller bottle for the fountain but the water stopped halfway at the straw
February 27th: made some edits to the small bottle and compared it to the larger one, and ended up making a new smaller/mini bottle using the larger one cut up. Tested it out and worked way better than the previous ones.
March 1st: attached the bottle to the base and added it to the circuit.
- Adjusted the circuit to around a 4-5 volt battery, fitted better than the 3 volt
- Decorated the final product with fake plants and rocks
Feedback:
Jayden LI: looks very nice, like the idea of the water fountain. But the water pressure and flow of the water aren’t creative enough, the top part is random
Andrew Fang: It’s very interesting but it leaks at the bottom, I like collecting the rocks
Bernice So: maybe change how the water goes right or left instead make it go straight up
Bowen Ke: very aesthetic
