G9 Science Energy Transformation Project – Define and Inquire

We will make an energy transfer device in this science project in 2 weeks.

Ideas for making:

  • Perpetual motion device

Pros: Contains educational purpose,

Cons: Hard to build, complicated science concept, doesn’t theoretically work

Challenge: ☆☆☆☆☆/☆☆☆☆☆

Skills used: I might be using fusion for this project, gluing cardboard together and using a magnet that makes this device work

Precedents:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7__4Kle7u7o

Audience: Anyone that is interested in perpetual motion devices

A video showing how to make a perpetual motion device could be an idea for me, but I might need to change where I put the magnet.

  • Elastic-propelled car

Pros: Easy to make, not time-consuming, Fun to play with

Cons: hard to make any change to the car

Challenge ☆☆/☆☆☆☆☆

Skills used: Using elastic bands, gluing wood together

Precedents:

Audience: Mainly kids because it is like a toy but it could also be for adult that just want to have fun and play with cars.

A good idea of how I can build a small car, similar idea to my project. Could be used as a model and add more ideas to modify the car and find ways to make the car go faster or be more efficient.

  • Windmill turbine generator

Pros: Concept is easy

Cons: Hard to light up the LED windmill to small can’t spin as fast when alone.

Challenge ☆☆☆/☆☆☆☆☆

Skill used: using battery and wires, making a circuit to light the LED

Precedents:

Audience: people who wants to light up a led light or people who are interested in different way to light-up LED’s

Video shows me a way to build a circuit to light up led light seems easy but could be hard to build by my self. They are using a larger fan to help the wind mill spin faster needs to find a way to make the windmill spin faster.

  • Electrical car

Pros: fun and entertaining

Cons: Attaching the motor to the wheels might be hard, soldering might be hard

Challenge: ☆☆☆/☆☆☆☆☆

Skill used: Soldering, making an electric circuit, gluing the car together, drilling

Precedents:

Audience: People at all age that wants to play with an electrical car or have fun with a small car.

The video gives me an idea of how to make the electrical car but might need to change where I place the motor and the materials I use to make the car.
