What is the purpose of your device/toy, how does it function, and who is your user?
At first, I thought of a slingshot, but I realized it was too simple and dangerous. So, I came up with a more complicated but safer disc launcher. Disc launchers would challenge my engineering skill, so I made a disc launcher. However, my disc launcher slightly differs from the other disc launchers. My disc launcher is the triple shooter, so it shoots 3 bullets per pull.
What is the environmental impact of your product, and is it durable and safe?
I would have three wooden bases, three cardboard roofs, many bullets, elastic bands, and a pipe. The measurements are shown below.
What precedents inspired you? What did you take away from them & how did it inform your choices?
The fact that thousands of students find science extremely impractical and boring. This factor inspired me to possibly help them enjoy science more, which is why I decided to make this product in particular.
- The product is stable, permanent, and functions correctly.
- It smoothly shoots the bullets.
- It is not dangerous.
- Minor errors.
- It meets the Science Engineering rubric.
