I make this found poem with an article called “Thank You M’am” by Langston Hughes.

The type of conflict is internal conflict, is the boy Roger Vs himself. In the story, When Roger tries to steal the bag from the woman he gets caught and have been taken to the woman’s house. In the development of the story, Roger has many opportunities to steal the bag from the woman and run away, but in the end, he didn’t intend to steal the bag but wanted to make the woman trust him. In the found poem, I want to show how Roger chooses between two choices. For instance, in the 31st paragraph, he wrote that Roger had a chance to escape from a woman’s house, so I wrote: “could make a dash” in the poem to represent his first choice. Moreover, In the 36th section, “He did not trust the woman not to trust him. And he did not want to be mistrusted now.” I left “the boy sit, wanted trust” to represent that he didn’t want to steal the woman’s bag but wanted to keep the woman’s trust. For the graphics, I put an open door to represent that the boy has a choice to run away with the bag, so I also draw a bag on the right side of the paper.
