This is a journal written by Catherine,  a 25 years old girl that got married to a man called Bastien. They live in the countryside in French in the 18th century. In the beginning, Catherine, like other Third Estates, hate how their country is running at that time. She wants revolution badly, she wants more rights, she wants her life to be better. All of her hope was on the revolution, however, it didn’t turn out like she expected.

From my perspective, the French Revolution is not worth it. To begin with, the goal of the whole revolution is about improving people’s lives and getting more rights to the individual. However, at the end of the revolution, after millions of death and laws, none of the goals that the Third Estate have achieved. For example, the Napoleonic Code and Declaration of Rights of Man. Both of them did not include people like women, children, and slaves. This proved that all those death are paid for only man’s rights, it is unfair and has no equality. However, there is improvement throughout the revolution, for instance, the country has gotten rid of the horrible King Louis, and replaced it with a more talented Napoleon. Although the country’s economy is rising, the right of all other people, not including man, has been taken away. So, in my opinion, the French Revolution is not worth it.
