Cuba. For most people, images of refugees sailing across the sea (and also large cigars) may flash into their head. Cuba, the small communist Caribbean island just off the coast of Florida. But what happened in Cuba to make it like this? What happened was the Cuban Revolution, which will be the topic of the video below, along with a few extra major events. The reasons for this revolt starts with a tyrannical dictator supported by the U.S. As the late president Kennedy has said, “Fulgencio Batista…turned democratic Cuba into a complete police state-destroying every individual liberty” Some may argue about the revolution’s success, but that’s up to personal interpretation.
