Today I’ll be presenting the topic of patents, and how overall patents are necessary for innovation. Patents are part of 3 intellectual properties, copyright, trademark, and patents. Patents apply to getting rights for your inventions, copyright for original works, and trademarks for certain properties. This essay will focus on patents, and how it affects SDG#8, industrial innovation.
My story starts with the character, Paddy Trevor. Paddy is a young caucasian male, born in 1757, and is just 18 when the revolution begins, but 30 at the end of this story. He starts the story, young and naive, thoughts filling his mind about making a better nation, and eagerly joins the revolution. But by the end of the story, he is older and mature, and has a destain and trust for his country after this story events, but will, you’ll just have to keep reading…
The American revolution will be forever known, as one of the most consequential revolutions, leading to the creation of America, which to this day, is still one of the world’s global superpowers. The success of this revolution is contributed to hose little was cost for it to succeed, and how impactful it was. Firstly, unlike many other revolutions such as the french revolution, the American Revolution was won after very little bloodshed and chaos. Only over 6,000 people had actually died in the revolution, a starch contrast to revolutions such as the french, which had caused over 27,000 deaths. Not only this, however, but what was to follow, was America’s growth, to become a global superpower, in just 244 years to today. America’s story is also widely known for encouraging immigrants, standing as a shining beacon of opportunity, and a place where anyone could rise up. Although I am in no way being ignorant of many of its nation’s bloody history, such as the Trail of Tears, or the institution of slavery, it is still undeniable how incredible it is to watch America grow to be a shining beacon of opportunity, and a global superpower, starting with the American Revolution.

There are very few wars that are to be thought of as influential, and successful, as the American revolution. This is the story of how America could manage to grow to be one of, if not the global superpower in the world. The story of America starts here, with the American revolution. This video focuses on the first chapter, of the story of America, the American revolution. It details how America went from just an insignificant colony to a global superpower between taxation, freedom of independence, and battles that would forever change the world.

The story I am presenting today, is “Ten Days a Madwoman”, a story written by Deborah Noyes, with themes and ideas regarding society’s treatment of the mentally ill, the significance of pursuing and following your dreams, and the disadvantages woman often face in society.
“Ten Days a Madwoman”, starts in 1887, as the story follows Elizabeth Jane Cochran, also known as Nellie Bly, an aspiring female reporter, who has taken to New York City in search of a job opportunity as a reporter. However, Nellie will be quick to find out how all the major journalist companies refuse to hire women, leaving her dejected. Downcast, her only opportunity to become a reporter is to land a scoop in an insane asylum,. This story follows Nellie Bly’s life, the rest of the adventures she faces, and the struggle she endures. Join Nellie on her tale of pursuing one’s dreams, fighting against misogyny, and the injustices faced by the mentally ill.
One of the early central ideas I identified, was the importance of pursuing your dreams, and passion. It is shown through Nellie Bly, as her journey to become a female reporter. The following is a page of evidence I have found and my analysis of it. 
The next document is to regarding the next central idea I have found, which is, societies treatment for the mentally ill. This was primarily focused on in “Ten Days a Madwoman”, with Nellie’s time spent in the insane asylum, the experiences she has faced, and the mentally ill who suffered. The following is my evidence and thoughts on this central idea.
The final document is my final central idea, which is how women often are faced with discrimination. This is explored throughout the story, such as Nellie facing misogyny, as to how she is originally denied as a reporter based on gender. The following is a page on my thoughts and evidence to this central idea.
In conclusion, “Ten Days a Madwoman” is an engrossing story about a female reporter, pursuing her dreams, with themes of sexism, treatment of the mentally ill, and pursuit of your dreams. I would highly recommend to everyone, not just as a documentary for the life and success of Nellie Bly, but as a way to learn more about American history, and how anyone can make a difference in the world. 9/10, would recommend.

I would do the same procedure except this time put water in the beaker on the outside instead of inside to boil.
The story I have chosen is from Lamb to the slaughter, written by Roald Dahl in 1953. So the conflict in the story is an external conflict between Mary ( the protagonist ) and her conflict is external and between her and her husband ( The first antagonist ), who divorces Mary, resulting in Mary killing her husband. The other conflict is the conflict of Mary fighting the police, ( the next antagonist ) and if she can get away with the murder of her husband. So, the conflict is external because Mary doesn’t have any internal conflict on what she does, and the whole story is her journey of fighting her world. Also, I believe the theme is not judging a book by its cover, since everyone suspects Mary to be an ordinary pregnant housewife only staying in the house and serving her husband ( the status quo at the time ) but Mary secretly is a psychopath. I also chose a photo of a drawing of Mary looking creepily with a leg of lamb with hollow eyes and cracking skin because I thought it would go with the words tired darling empty inside, to express how people see Mary as just a suburban, submissive housewife, but inside shes kinda a psychopath. The words also go with Patrick who is kind of empty inside since he feels no passion or love for Mary. I also thought that the photo would show how Mary is just seen by the police as an ordinary housewife when they don’t suspect her at all except a few parts to be the murder. This is since they don’t expect a woman to be able to kill a man with brute force. For example, when they talk to Mary about the murder weapon, they say “It’s the old story,” he said. “Get the weapon, and you’ve got the man.” showing how they don’t expect the murder to be Mary, a woman, but they shouldn’t see Mary as a stereotype, but the person she is.
