How I would improve
I would improve by next time Adding the water in the beaker outside of the one I’m melting.
When I was cooking my lip balm, I added the water inside the beaker currently being melted which was a big problem. Instead, I should have added water outside of the beaker being boiled so I could better heat it up. Next time, I wouldn’t make the same error.
The story I have chosen is from Lamb to the slaughter, written by Roald Dahl in 1953. So the conflict in the story is an external conflict between Mary ( the protagonist ) and her conflict is external and between her and her husband ( The first antagonist ), who divorces Mary, resulting in Mary killing her husband. The other conflict is the conflict of Mary fighting the police, ( the next antagonist ) and if she can get away with the murder of her husband. So, the conflict is external because Mary doesn’t have any internal conflict on what she does, and the whole story is her journey of fighting her world. Also, I believe the theme is not judging a book by its cover, since everyone suspects Mary to be an ordinary pregnant housewife only staying in the house and serving her husband ( the status quo at the time ) but Mary secretly is a psychopath. I also chose a photo of a drawing of Mary looking creepily with a leg of lamb with hollow eyes and cracking skin because I thought it would go with the words tired darling empty inside, to express how people see Mary as just a suburban, submissive housewife, but inside shes kinda a psychopath. The words also go with Patrick who is kind of empty inside since he feels no passion or love for Mary. I also thought that the photo would show how Mary is just seen by the police as an ordinary housewife when they don’t suspect her at all except a few parts to be the murder. This is since they don’t expect a woman to be able to kill a man with brute force. For example, when they talk to Mary about the murder weapon, they say “It’s the old story,” he said. “Get the weapon, and you’ve got the man.” showing how they don’t expect the murder to be Mary, a woman, but they shouldn’t see Mary as a stereotype, but the person she is.

One thing I did well in my Argumentative essay was including strong points. I bileave I explained my points so that the reader could understand my thoughts. However, I tried to add in as much as possible to my essay, which caused a lot of misspelled words, and grammar issues which I didn’t have enough time to edit. Along with my points, I think I supported them with lots of evidence from a trustworthy source. But still, I did not follow the essay model. For instance, i did not restate my argument when I was supposed to. Overall I think my essay was good, but sill a little rushed, and still with lots of area to improve next time.
Percy Jackson has ADHD, and due to this, his symptoms of ADHD alter his behavior to school and the choices that he makes. There are multiple examples of this which are shown in the book. However, there are ways for Percy to be able to control his attitude and choices like being in a stimulating environment and focusing more on things that entrest him.
Percy’s frustration and anger directed to school have all have been rooted in his resentment toward ADHD and dyslexia. Due to ADHD and dyslexia, Percy has given up on trying for school because of his disabilities. A clear example of this is on page 17 of Percy Jackson and the lightning thief, “Finally when our English teacher Mr. Nicoll asked me for the millionth time why I was too lazy to study for the spelling tests, I snapped. I called him an old sot.” This demonstrates Percy’s frustration with how he isn’t learning at school, however, Percy’s inability to focus on his study is a symptom of ADHD. According to the article Neurodiversity: A different view of ADHD, “The symptoms include often losing items, not paying attention to details or making careless mistakes in school and not listening most of the time.” However, Percy’s attitude to school is not the only thing that ADHD is having an impact on. Percy’s school studies and grades are also being affected by ADHD which is shown once again in the book Percy Jackosn on page 17, “My grades slipped from Ds to Fs.” Ounce moreover, this is ADHD interfering with Percy’s grades because this is just another symptom of ADHD. In the article again, “Avoiding activities that require focus are also symptoms.” Overall, this represents that ADHD has a huge influence on both Percy’s attitude to school, and Percys studies itself. However, the center of both Percy’s problems is his irritation at how he can’t tolerate many of his subjects for being boring, and complex. This problem could all be solved if he took more subjects that interested him, or if his subjects connected to things that interest him. This statement is backed up with evidence from the article again, when it says, “They might be very focused when something interests them.” This could help Percy exceptionally so that Percy would focus more on his work. This indeed appears from the book, “so he was the only teacher that didn’t put me to sleep.” in closing, to help Percy’s frustration with the inability to focus, Percy could take more classes that interest him, or have is classes connect with something that interests him to not only improve his attitude to school but his school grades in general.
Percy’s attitude to school however is not the only thing how Percy is being affected by ADHD. Percy’s day to day choices also is being impacted by ADHD. This is shown in the form of another symptom of ADHD, fidgeting. On page 2 in Percy Jackson the book, “ I sort of hit the wrong lever on the catwalk, and our class took an unplanned swim.” This choice was affected by ADHD and fidgeting. In the article once more, “These symptoms also include fidgeting, difficulty playing quietly or waiting for a turn and blurting out answers I class.” But this isn’t the only symptom of ADHD that is affecting Percy, the other being how he often acts before thinking like blurting. On page 5 of Percy Jackson, Percy blurts out “will you shut up?” during a trip. That’s also another symptom of ADHD. According to the article, “and blurting out answers in class.” Overall All these features of ADHD have a big impact on Percy’s decisions, But Percy could prevent these symptoms from happening too often with an easy solution, going outside to play sports or taking a break. As stated in the article, “People with ADHD also do their best in a stimulating environment. They like to be outdoors and move their bodies.” This is shown in Percy Jackson the book again in the form of Mr.Brunner, “I mean, sure, it was kind of cool on tournament days, when he dressed up in a suit of Roman armor and shouted, ‘What ho!’ and challenged us sword-point against chalk to the board and name ever greek and roman person who had ever lived,” So Percy shouldn’t let ADHD take control of his choices and use these simple tricks to help him control himself more.
In conclusion, with ADHD, Percy would have trouble with both maintaining his attitude towards school and his choices. But by being in a stimulating environment and focusing on things that entrest him, Percy Jackson should be able to not let symptoms of ADHD affect him.
What is your biggest take away from 6th-grade science?
The biggest take away for me was doing the warming cup project
because by doing that project, I feel like I was really
focusing on creativity and working on how to make this cup warm
which used creativity, and it was fun testing all the ideas,
and making it happen.
What would you like to work on for next year in science?
I want to work on more projects like the cup holder cause
I like creating new ideas as models and using my creativity.
something interesting I learned about species is how sloths are excellent swimmers

In this book club project, I will be focusing on character. This is a timeline of what happens in Speak and how it affects the main character, Melinda.

SPOILER WARNING
During this unit, I was able to show how the coronavirus has an impact on my life and my different experiences over this quarantine. I organized my project by time with the first to be my first few experiences and then my latest. I chose this because I thought it would show my reaction to the coronavirus over time and how it progresses. This primary source could be beneficial for historians in the future who want to learn about how peoples lives were during the coronavirus break down and also if they could find extra information on the topic of coronavirus. Historians may learn a lot from just a journal like what are important events that happened during the quarantine? I am proud at how much I have learned on determine which source was trustworthy and which weren’t. But for one thing, I found challenging, in the whole unit, I sort of struggled to balance all my classes.
