In humanities, we are reading different books related to race and discrimination. The book my book club read is “Hush” by Jacqueline Woodson. It is about a girl named Toswiah, her family move from Denver to a new home where she needs to hide her identity in Denver and start a new life with a new name, new background, and new identity. In Denver, her family faced danger because of race conflicts; therefore, they need to move to a new home. Through out the book, Toswiah is trying to find who she is because she felt lost after she left everything she loved in Denver. I think this is a good book that reveals racism problems in life, it also shows the process of a person lost finding identify again.
