What is a wrong photograph?
There is no such thing as a “wrong” picture.
What makes a photo good and a photo bad is personal and subjective. Sure, there are rules that if are followed, will look good for the most part. Even then, this is a opinion and not objective.
Context is very important in photography because it allows us to understand the background of not only the photo, but also the artist themself. In the picture titled “Wrong”, Baldessari takes an intentionally “bad” photo and labels it “wrong” demonstrating that he knows that the photo is not perceived as “good”, and comments on the idea that there are rules of what make a “good” photo that are collectively agreed upon, demonstrated through this ironic concept.
