Land and Liberty

The Mexican Revolution was a bloody revolt among several factors that led up to assassinations, poor rebellions, and later the establishment of a constitutional republic.

Above is our CommonCraft video of the Mexican Revolution in Plain English. We introduced and explained briefly the significant people and important events that happened throughout, ranging from 1910 to 1920. From the poor pronouncements and decisions of Porfirio Diaz, where the majority were unsatisfied, to the rule of Alvaro Obregon, where the people finally retrieved back their rights.

It is debatable whether the revolution was worthwhile. Since many authoritative leaders were killed, the whole process was violent and there were uncountable unnecessary deaths. However, the revolution also resulted in positive consequences. The Constitution of 1917  legalized the federal government’s authority and also redistributed the land back to the peasants. Many of the people’s values and opinions were taken into consideration, which was a favorable result of the Mexican Revolution.
