The poem above was made from page 7 of “ Tuesday of the Other June” by Norma Fox Mazer. An external conflict between the protagonist June and the antagonist the other June. This story mostly talks about the other June bullying the protagonist because they have the same name, she bullies her by calling her names like “fish eyes” and by physically hurting her. While at the same time her mother keeps telling the protagonist to “be good,” “my Junie; smile at the world, and the world will surely smile back. ” The action rises when the other June wanted to stab a pencil towards June, at that time, June was struggling with the thoughts of standing up for herself or listening to her mom of being a good girl. She thought of her mother’s words and thought, “I had smiled and the world hadn’t smiled back.” In the end, June chose to stand up for herself against the bully and say no. The conflict between them finally ended at the end of the story. The end of the story says that “I knew this was the last Tuesday of the Other June,” which meant that awful days she got bullied are finally over.
