Am I a Humanist?

Humanism was a big part of the Renaissance, helping spark art and creativity and individuality that paved the way in years to come. I would say that I resonate with most of the key concepts of humanism. For the education for all idea from humanism, I agree with it 100%, I think that everyone should have education or have the opportunity to have an education. For the secularism part of humanism, I agree with it 80%. I think that governments should be non-religious, and that people should have a choice, that they can be a humanist and Christian, but they don’t have to be, and they should have a choice, but should always savor the day! I agree 100% with the individualism portion of humanism, everyone should be proud of themselves, and no one should have to be the same as another, difference is a gift, and everyone should be treated the same and treated well. In regards of the revival of old ideas, I agree with it 100%, why waste time discovering something already discovered when you could be working towards bigger things? Also, looking at the Middle Ages when they all threw ancient knowledge out the window, it didn’t really work out for them and learning about history helps us to not repeat it! As for the questioning everything idea from humanism I gave it a 90% on the ol’ I-agree-o-meter. I think that yes, you should ask yourself questions, but not necessarily everything? Questioning everything kind of sounds like a headache, but most things sound easier to chew on! And with that, I’m around 94% humanist.
