Now, it’s hard to try to go on all the best rides in 3 hours AND take a bunch of photos, so the photo count for today was NOT super high at all. My group did, however, win the best selfie and best action shot, so that’s certainly a plus.
I would say that Happy Valley is better than Universal Studios. There, I said it! The rides have higher stakes, they’re faster, have more loops, and overall have fewer “family” rides, although I guess that’s because Universal needs to have a reputation because it’s a family company blah blah blah. I went on a couple of rollercoasters, namely the eagle/music ride the big water ride, and the extreme speed (red) ride.
The music ride was fun and was a good “warm-up” as it wasn’t too fast and didn’t have any major drops, yet still carried the thrill of roller-coasters. It was quite long too, letting you see the wonders of the rest of the park, while still enjoying yourself on the roller-coaster. However, the music was kind of boring and felt like a knock-off Mission Impossible soundtrack.
The water ride was unexpected. I went into it thinking that the ride was not going to splash too much water, but I was completely wrong. Not even two minutes into the ride and my shorts were completely soaked. I neglected to buy a raincoat, which was certainly a mistake but made the ride more enjoyable. For the big drop, we photographed the ride and ended up with perfect reaction images to water (Jaslyn’s shirt was soaked for the rest of the day). Here are the winning photos:
Finally, the extreme-speed roller-coaster was the BEST roller-coaster at Happy Valley, no doubt about it. I was not expecting to immediately be thrown out of my seat at the beginning of the ride, but it was met perfectly with heights and the absolute thrill that the ride brought. The racecar theme matched perfectly with the speed, making me feel as though I was in a Formula 1 racecar. It truly was an unmatched ride.
