WHY DON’T WE JUST RELAX AND TURN ON THE RADIO? WOULD YOU LIKE AM OR FM
- If you could start over from the beginning, what specifically would you change about your product?
I’d probably make the corners less sharp, either by sanding them down or just using making a box that had a curve to the sides. the vintage/retro radios that I used for reference mostly had slightly rounded corners and i was going to sand the corners down on my speaker but I think I just ended up forgetting to do that. - What aspect of this project are you most proud of?
Either the staining or the turn dial. I really like the staining because my last time staining was kind of terrible and I went into the staining step with pretty low expectations so it’s nice to see it turned out pretty well. I’m also really proud of the turn dial because it makes the speaker much more interesting and pushes the retro aesthetic more. - Which part of the design process did you struggle with the most & why do you think that is?
I’d say it was the develop and plan stage, more specifically the part where we had to take all the measurements down; both on paper and in affinity. I kept on overthinking the measurements trying to confirm that everything was correct and ended up making myself panic thinking I had somehow messed up the measurements several times. - What’s the first song you plan on listening to on your speaker and why?
Housewife Radio, I was originally gonna have some lyrics from it as the front thing but then I remembered the “Why don’t we relax and turn on the radio” vine. It’s a really good song but also the story of it is kind of dark, also it literally has “radio” in the title.
