In our first design unit, we were create a lightbox. I choose New York to be my place of the lightbox. I learned a lot of different technique.

Overall, I think my light box is success because all the steps went smoothly, from using Adobe Illustrator made layers to get cut out. It’s all going well. The layers perfectly fix in the box. I learned how to use the Adobe Illustrator to make layers, its hard to make layers. You need make sure that the length of the layers can fix the box perfectly and its hard to find a picture of what you want. Fortunately, I got what I want. After I finish my layers and got cut out, I was very happy that the layers was perfect. When I put the LED in, I found that if I put the LED in the back, it would be dark in the front. I came up with a idea, I put some LED that was behind the third layer to the front of it (behind the second layer), so that it looks more pretty, also makes the front less dark.

My biggest obstacle was the painting, since my painting skills are not as good. I originally wanted to paint on the windows and lights of the buildings, but I couldn’t paint the windows the way I wanted them to, so I ended up painting just a gray color. Even though the I didn’t achieve what I originally wanted to, but the effect still turned out great. Overall, my light box was a success, and I look forward to our next unit.
