During this project, I’m mostly struggling with the front part of my speaker. My inspiration for this project was Polaroid. I wanted to restore the part of the camera on Polaroid. In a Polaroid, its camera was surrounded by a more circular part. However, I thought the circle was too boring, instead of putting a circle frame around the speaker, I choose the diamond-shape for the frame. While restoring the camera part, the frame also covers the screws fixing the speaker. Also, over the course of this project, I learned how to use affinity to sketch out my design.
The most important decision I make is to choose what kind of speaker I want to make. It’s hard to decide what kind of speaker or aesthetic I want to make. However, I first chose an aesthetics I like and began to find some inspiration through research. I think this is the most important decision because I thought that only after I have a goal/inspiration, I can do this project well and I can make a better speaker.
Here is my speaker.
