(Since my model didn’t want to show all the images, I blurred out all pictures except for the final one)
ALL PHOTOS
1. Yellow Selection
I chose photographs that slightly aligned with my vision for the Yellow Selection. There is a variation in the shape of light among these images, and for some of the photos, I tried some different colors for the background light, such as blue and red. One similarity in these photos is that the light strip is on my model’s face, especially in her eyes. This is because my vision is to face and break difficulties in our life. In this case, the light strip represents ‘hope,’ and the dark background gives the audience a sense of being ‘trapped.’ All of these elements together built up my vision, and they are represented in the images that I chose for the Yellow Selection.
2. Green Selection
For the Green Selection, I am mainly focusing on the emotion that the picture can convey to the audience. Therefore, the position of the light in the image became important. All six images in the Green Selection have the light on my model’s face. Since the light represents ‘hope,’ the position of the light became a key part of conveying emotions, different positions may create different feelings. If the light is on her face/eyes, the emotion became stronger. Therefore, the photographs in the Green Selection best represent Alessio Albi’s style and have the right position of the light on my model’s face at the same time.
3. Red Selection
Here is the picture that I chose for the Red Selection. This photograph best represents my vision while taking in Alessio Albi’s style. The light strip on my model’s face shows ‘hope’ and her gesture (reaching forward) means to touch/break. This image conveys a strong emotion of hope and courage. The hope of escape from the trap and the courage to break the obstacles. Additionally, I use a smaller aperture to blur the hand in front of her and to focus more on her face. This adds a sense of uncertainty to the photo, which takes the emotion to another level. Moreover, for my final presentation, I decided to crop the photo into a square shape. The square symbolizes a trap, but in this trap, she finds the light of hope, she reaches out, and she is ready to ESCAPE from the trap.
Finally, here is how I want to present my photos:
