Our baby carriage is used to carry infants without their parents pushing the car. It is very safe because we designed the container much larger than the RC car below to prevent the baby from falling off it. Throughout designing, I learned how to design a vehicle effectively and create a durable car body structure to keep the passenger safe. Our success criteria are that we followed our blueprint as we made the product and ensured good quality, and it will function normally. Overall, we did an excellent job on the first criterion because we measured every material precisely, followed the procedure step by step, and eventually came up with a good product. However, I believe there’s room for improvement in the second success criterion because we did not solve the decoration and issues with the motor of the RC car on time. The product will improve if we get one or two more classes to work on them. Suppose we use the rubric to examine our product. In that case, I think we spotted the target audience quite obviously: the parents who want more relaxation time without having babies. Furthermore, we analyzed inspirations carefully and decided which aspects we would take and which things we could not achieve that we needed to give up on. For example, we use small motors instead of the big ones in the video because of the consideration for the baby’s safety. Also, we developed detailed blueprints and success criteria, applied our design thinking and divergent ideas to practice effectively, and demonstrated technical and design skills with good feedback to improve. However, I believe the quality of the product can be higher, and we should take more photos and videos while creating the baby carriage. I am most proud of the wood base that I made, also the most challenging part of the process because it was very hard to connect the container to the RC car. We solved it by adding another paperboard layer between the wood and the RC car so that the screw would connect to the paperboard, and we used the glue gun to stick the paperboard (with the RC car below) to the container so that they became more stable.
