Hutong mindmap:

Six techniques are required:

1. The decisive moment:

2. Work the scene – Don’t just take one photo

3. Don’t move – The fishing technique

4. Capture gestures

5. Get really close – One arm length

6. Eye contact

Below are the three techniques I planned to utilize on the Hutong trip:

1. Monochrome

Black and White Street Photography Tips: The Definitive Guide | INSPIRED EYE. 11 June 2020, www.theinspiredeye.net/black-and-white-street-photography/. Accessed 8 Nov. 2023.

2. Guidance line

“Complete Guide to Street Photography for Beginners.” Photography Life, 16 Feb. 2019, photographylife.com/what-is-street-photography.

3. Low camera position

“Street Photography – Get Lost in the City.” ODYSSEAS CHLORIDIS, odysseaschloridis.com/urban-photography. Accessed 8 Nov. 2023.

Below are my chosen artists and styles I would like to employ:

Josef Koudelka

I like Koudelka’s style of monochrome photos with straight, parallel, discrete, and curving guiding lines that successfully highlight the details within the image and attract the viewers’ attention to the photograph

One image to try out:

“Josef Koudelka | England (1976) | Artsy.” Www.artsy.net, www.artsy.net/artwork/josef-koudelka-england-1. Accessed 10 Nov. 2023.
