Referencing the picture above entitled “Wrong!” Can a ‘bad’ picture ever be ‘great’? – How important is context in photography? (context= why a picture was taken, when or where it was taken and what message you were trying to make)
According to John Baldessari, in a photograph, we don’t need to always use normal forms of art or photograph, and we shouldn’t let our work have to be judged by other people. More saying, an idea cannot be wrong or right as it is created as a personal perspective and no one should be able to tell you what you cant do. Context in photography is highly important. The meaning, the point of the photo is the reason it is taken. No matter if its a “good” photo or a “bad” photo there is usually always a reason it is taken. A photograph can mean a message coming from the photographer, or a story through the background, position, or lighting. But breaking rules could also be art, just like John Baldessari showed us, it portrays the emotion, mood and other aspects as such. The context of a photo is important and portrayed through different ways and perspectives.
