Bruce Gilden is a street photographer who focuses on direct flash of photos on strangers passing by. Some of the appealing elements in his photos include the dramatic light and dark contrasts and the sharp facial expressions of the people. His innovative style of capturing close photos of strangers fascinates me as I would also want to highlight the the details of people in everyday life and enhancing the contrasts between different shades.
“I find the people who are interesting. The freaks, the unique individuals… And the people who don’t belong.” — Bruce Gilden
Just like Bruce Gilden, I incline to get attracted by unique people and the different reactions towards the camera. Some people might not be willing to be snapped by a camera, others might be confused or surprised. Thus, the facial expressions in each photo would indicate different feelings.
