Initial Thoughts of Reflection

What

Think of reflection; what comes to mind are mirrors, glasses, water,

How

In this unit I want to focus on the reflections of buildings or mirrors that reflect people’s “real side.”

Tatsuya Tanaka inspired images

These images were carefully crafted by Eee and Alex, inspired by Tatsuya Tanaka, showcasing the perfect fusion of creativity and modernity. Placing LEGO mini characters on modern electronic devices such as laptops and mobile phones forms the core of this visual narrative. This is a fascinating microcosm where mini characters shop on mobile screens, whimsically symbolizing our interaction with technology. This scene arouses people’s curiosity and entertainment, making us think about the intersection of our digital life and the world of toy games.

From a technical perspective, the photography is skillfully executed. The depth of field is masterfully employed, with the foreground minifigures in sharp focus while the background elements, including the electronics, are softly blurred. This highlights the main subjects and creates a sense of depth and dimension, enhancing the illusion of a miniature world. The choice of perspective, looking down at the scene from a slightly elevated position, gives the viewer a sense of being an observer in this tiny world.

This is my favorite picture. The Lego minifigures, each with a distinct character and posture, bring a sense of life and story to the scene. The use of depth of field is particularly striking, with the foreground Minifigure in sharp focus. In contrast, the others and the background are softly blurred, creating a captivating sense of depth and dimension. The colors are well-balanced, with the warm tones of the Minifigures clothing contrasting nicely with the cooler hues of the phone screen and the surrounding environment. It’s a delightful snapshot that transports me into a miniature world full of charm and imagination, making it a truly captivating piece of art.

Photography Composition Practice

This image uses framing that centers a plush doll with gray hair and purple eyes among a chaotic, colorful mix of embroidery threads. The doll is the clear focal point, drawing the viewer’s eye. In terms of art elements, the threads’ vivid greens, blues, reds, and yellows form a lively palette. The doll’s simple shape and soft-textured fabric contrast with the smooth threads, adding depth. The image communicates multiple feelings. The doll evokes warmth, like a beloved anime character. The doll and the threads create an imaginative space.

This image frames a plush doll between books, using the technique depth of field. Book colors contrast with the doll’s. Their rectangular shapes oppose the doll’s round and organic forms, and the textures vary, too. The doll stirs nostalgia and comfort. The books convey an intellectual air. The scene with the doll among books feels intimate and cozy, merging memories, learning, and warmth.

This image uses a leading lines technique with the plush doll centrally suspended, a blurred background of cherry blossoms, and a red envelope for depth. Elements of art include the warm pink of blossoms, contrasting doll colors, and soft textures. It communicates tranquility, beauty, nostalgia, charm, and a connection to Japanese culture.

This image uses a composition where a plush doll is placed in an ancient statue’s hand, creating a contrast. Elements of art include muted statue tones vs. doll’s bright colors and rough statue texture vs. soft doll texture. It conveys curiosity, wonder, nostalgia for ancient art, and the whimsy of modern dolls.

These images feature a plush doll with gray hair and purple eyes suspended against vibrant pink cherry blossoms. The composition technique highlights the doll as the focal point, with the blurred blossoms creating a soft, dreamy atmosphere. Elements of art include the contrasting colors of the doll’s dark clothing and the bright pink flowers, as well as the smooth texture of the plush doll and the delicate petals. Also these three images have different color tones used to distinguish different images.

Attention economy

According to Matthew Crawford, “Attention is a resource—a person has only so much of it.” our Attention is a very precious source for everyone, and if we don’t want to waste our attention we need to use it wisely. In grade 8, student can be distracted by many thing on the internet, for example social media and video game, during these activity it will consume our attention . based on US report 62% of parents of teens aged 14 to 17 years that their children generally spend more than 4 hours a day on the screen. On that time we can do many thing that will help more on our future. That doesn’t mean we can’t going on to internet for entertainment but we need to manage our time better on learning.

For advanced you can have a limited time on your screen everyday, for example you can plan everyday on your screen spend two and a half hour, and a time you can spend on the internet for entertainment, for this strategies you can concentrate on things that you do for each period of time. For a better advanced base on the strategies you can plan a schedule for your daily life, that will help you to control your time better.

At last, internet Attention is a very precious source, many merchant that make app treat attention as a commodity, so you should use your attention wisely and carefully and manage our time better.

My cardboard arcade game

The first picture is our token for our games.             The second picture is our games.              The third picture is the in side of the games

The biggest success was to improve the game from just a card board in to a game that can insert coin and a very interesting game.

The biggest obstacle is sticking thing in side the card board because the hole is too small for our hand.
