World Without Fish

The name of the book me and my bookclub group read was The World Without Fish by Mark Kurlansky. The theme in The World Without Fish is don’t over do things. In the book people are starting to realize that there are less fish in the water the less birds that eat the fish. Scientists start finding out that if we keep fishing the way we are the ocean life could be seriously altered, and they start telling people but no one seems to care. Later on people start to realize that the Scientists were right, there is no more fish except for certain areas that are heavily guarded. The central idea is survival because the fishermen need more money but the fish are dying the more and more they fish. The next central idea is under and over population because there are too many people and not enough fish for people to eat everyday

Crazy Lady

My poem is from the short story called Thank You, Ma’m (Hughes 1). The concept of the poem is external conflict: character vs character. My poem shows this because there is a lady who is about to get robbed and she fights him, there is no thinking going on so it can’t be internal conflict. The art work works well with my poem because the conflict is character vs character and my art work has two people fighting.
