Chew On This by Eric Schlosser is about what fast foods are really made of and how they advertised their foods to make everyone buy them. The story starts off by telling us how they advertise the companies and tell us how the foods are actually made. The story is told by the perspective Eric Schlosser and is mostly telling us just the facts and doesn’t really have a story to it. The book gives us an insight of how fast foods are really manufactured and how they are advertised to be what they are today.
i really enjoyed reading this book. It gave me a lot of new and interesting facts about fast foods, as you scroll through my notes below, please look at some of the central ideas I developed while reading this book:
The first central idea I found was: unsanitary and malnutrition in foods.

As I read further, I saw so many more examples of the malnutrition and the unsanitary in the fast foods and the product that was used in it.

Another place i tried to pull ideas was on lesson 11. In this lesson, we are asked to be alert when you are not understanding or when you are fascinated and want to learn more. It was very important to reread and do some research about it. It was challenging at first but i finally got it: there were a lot of unnecessary additives in the foods that made it taste even better.

I pushed myself to do more thinking like this in another section of the book which was talking about how the companies advertised the foods to make people buy it. It talks about how the smell of food is important to our human brain because it makes us want to eat it more. On page 135, the aroma of food can be responsible for as much as 90% of its taste.
