The Yellow Selection:
I have chosen these 20 photos as the first selection. This is because all these photos focus on the shapes, lines, shadows, or reflection instead of the color, proving when it switching to black and white. It referencing my statement of intent, I intend to discover the beauty of black and white photo by focus on the element. Many have fascinating element that are independent from color, therefore it should work great under black and white.

The Red Selection
That’s one of the three that made it through. Because of its unique lines and patterns with shadows and reflections, it is extremely interesting, even without any color.
This is one of the three that made it through, and it’s my favorite. Because of its unique patterns and lines to match the image, it is perfect like a puzzle. The black and white style makes the whole photo focus on the beauty created by the elements.
It was also the last photo to qualify for the final three because of his unique lines and patterns. Although it is particularly single compared with other photos, perhaps this single photo highlights the beauty created by the element in the photo. In the absence of color, this leaves only the beauty of lines and patterns in the eyes of the audience.
