I started by some very random ideas by searching logos on the internet. They gave me famous logos that everyone might know like apple, nike, etc… I really wanted to create my very own design and suddenly a pumpkin came out of my mind. I think it popped out because it was Halloween just some days before and I had a feeling to scare someone.

I even couldn’t find the button “make sketch”  at the beginning so, I reviewed all the videos posted on DX and learned some basic tools such as making a rectangle, simple shapes, etc… I really feel like I made a huge progress during the project and I still think that the pumpkin was a good idea since it was quite a simple design.  I also had to erase like 30 lines because I spammed copy and paste and made the lines thicker. The most intense and annoying part was when my file just got deleted. From the beginning my files got deleted like 3 times and at the end, I realized that the size of the wood was too small so had to restart from the beginning. I really had a mental break down when I knew that I had to start from the beginning, but, I overcame by thinking that its my project and I have to do it.

I had to click “edit sketch” but kept clicking make sketch and made several sketches so this was also another reason I had to restart.

If I had to give some tips to incoming students, it should surely be to ask the teacher when you don’t know something and never give up because you have to restart from the beginning. Some students are shy to ask to a teacher and I was one of these kind but, each time I asked a teacher, they gave me the exact solution i needed and helped me so much to finish my project earlier. I know that having to start from 0, gives a mental breakdown and that was what happened to me also, but, since it was my project and I had to send it before the due date, I just kept going forward. I want to say that starting from the beginning is learning a new lesson at the end and learning from my mistakes helps me not to repeat it again.

Since I learned so many lessons from my huge mistakes, I would make myself read one more time through DX to prevent that.  I would also make myself spend more time on Fusion 360 just for fun in order to discover new tools and new ways.

The teachers were great and we(students) went forward together with Miss Kim.  We were mostly new to Fusion 360 and I felt tired just by looking with the buttons. I personally felt that the class time was a little bit too short to review the things we learned in class or make a progress on the project. Apart the class time issue I felt belonging to the class and every teachers, classmates were so nice. I had such a good experience on using a program such as Fusion 360 and wish that the new students that will come, join this class enjoys.
