Are You a Renaissance Humanist?

Part 7 – Summative : Blog Post

Part 1: Divergent Ideas:

We first discussed about our favorite foods and drinks before thinking about the problems. We had ideas like; meat, sushi, some vegetables and bubble tea. After talking about these foods, we mostly had the same problems while eating or drinking. We realized that even the country or culture is different, the way we enjoy foods and drinks are the same. So, we also tried to listen other people’s idea such as Ms.Tresohlavy or students in our table. Eventually, we had a conclusion to solve the problems we and other people had. Not only that we also thought about different ages such as grandparents or babies that might have troubles while eating a particular food.

Part 2 : Feedback & Refinement

We only had feedbacks that our drawings were nice and easy to see: “Looks good” “very nice zoom in” “Funny drawing” “The zoom-ins are nice” “magnifying glass zoom in” “nice simple drawings”. We had a big problem that there where a lack of information, that the handwriting was hard to understand and that some are dangerous : “maybe more explanations?” “maybe write more explanations and labels to explain” “maybe you can add more labels” “make something that is less dangerous”. Since some of our products are made for grandparents and babies, it is true that being dangerous can be a big disadvantage, so, we decided to take the sharp parts made of stainless steel to plastic. For the poor handwritings, we all wrote one idea each that at least we can understand the 2 others. For the lack of information, we tried to explain it by zooming in and explain it by drawings since everyone liked our zoom in and drawings.

Part 3 : Reflect & Share

First, our “bubble tea-tea” was made by our idea that sometimes the tapioca pearls(the black bubbles) are getting too much inside our mouth, so, we made a straw that blocks the pearls coming in by only a click of a button. The biggest weakness of our straw, was that we can’t only eat the pearls. Some people actually enjoy eating the pearls and actually eating the pearls is the main idea of drinking a bubble tea because it’s actually just a milk tea without the pearls. But, don’t worry! We added a second filter to make the tea drop before entering our mouth and let only the pearls enter inside. By these two filters, we are letting the people on each sides enjoy more the bubble tea and also get a chance to enjoy both sides!

Dog licking window

The text is from TUESDAY OF THE OTHER JUNE that is written by Norma Fox Mazer. The protagonist of the story is Buffalo Brain one the antagonist of the story is Turkey nose. The conflict of the story is that Turkey Nose locked Buffalo Brain and licked the window. The conflict of the story is external. This conflict is important because in the original story, the other June bullies June so this is like a small revenge from June in another universe. The June is also very kind in this universe so she doesn’t really bullies the other June. The story should end by the two girls becoming best friends if there isn’t any twists.
