set 2 photo- blog post 13

“I see you”

I chose this photo because it shows a great use of  reflection from the water. The color of the photo and the reflection made the feeling of antiquity, and mystery. this also connect with my thought of using water to reflect the light and shadow.

“go with the flow”

I chose this photo because it shows a great use of  reflection and the light of the water. The texture and the pattern of the water also made a very fluency and comfort feeling. this also connect with my idea of light and the reflection it makes itself is an art piece, but people are too busy and don’t have the chance to be aware of the art around them.

“work night”

I chose this photo because it shows a great use of long exposure, and the light effect it brings. the contrast of different colors also brings a very fancy feeling. It is also very magical because we can’t really see this kind of light in real life. This connect with my artist Stephen Orlando who helps viewers experience movement in novel ways using long exposure

Statement of intent for set 1 photo – Blog post 8

The art of architecture

The message of my photo I want to show the Elegance and hidden beauty in geometric architecture. The message is to let people connect with the architecture around them since People are often too busy and won’t be aware of things around them. I want my audience to have a strong sense of curiosity and feel peace when looking at my photo. For inspiration, I will try to find a photographer who explores amazing architecture, and a photographer who explores the use of light and pattern in his or her photo. In my own opinion, architecture itself is an art piece, but people are too busy and don’t have the chance to be aware of the art around them.

Photo Safari – Blog post 6

one of my least favorite photos from the set is the fourth one because it didn’t really show the use of light and shadow.

one of my favorite photos is the 11th one because I think it really shows a great use of the one-point perspective and vanishing point. This photo also gives me a very calm and peaceful feeling with the use of solid and light colors and framing.

Edward Weston photo- blog post 5

‘Onion Halved’

Edward Weston might have been interested in taking a real-life environment that this more natural, as we can see from the photo he usually takes photos of those real-life elements. he might also be interested in taking photos from a zoomed-in perspective.  Last but not least he might be interested in making the photos black and white to really show the texture of the object.

If I were the photographer, I would name the photo ‘ unknown’ because I think the photo is very abstract, and we can’t really see what the photo is taking.

this photo, has a very strong use of line, pattern, and texture, because we can clearly see the line and pattern on the onion, and because the photo is black and white, we can really see the water in the onion, and the light that it’s reflexing. even though the shape of the onion wasn’t really clear, but the focus was right on the onion, which is the mean object, and there was a great use of the tone, and light. This photo makes me feel a little bit yucky because the Irregular shape,And the reflection of the slime

ABSTRACTION IN PHOTOGRAPHY- blog post 3

The pictorialism movement in photography represents a set of principles about photography’s role in the world of art and a photographic aesthetic. with that being said, the Straight photography movement in photography creates a highly detailed and technical image to highlight real-world images that exemplify form, life, and aesthetics. there are also many artists influenced by the straight photography movement. For example, Edward Weston took pictures of people he met and of objects and buildings. His pictures appeared to represent the true nature of his subjects. just like the cabbage leaf below. This photo makes me feel like that. It is very advanced because of the use of black and white color. It is also very mysterious because we can’t really tell what it is If we don’t look closely at it.

not only Edward Weston but also Aaron Siskind was influenced by the straight photography movement. Aaron Siskind was one of the first photographers to combine what was known as “straight” photography, for example, the seaweed below. The use of color makes this photo’s mood look very down And very mysterious because is very Abstract and we can’t really Understand the feeling behind the photo.

Andreas Gursky made a lot of abstract art using the visual weight of patterns, colors, lines, and repetitive groupings of forms also using the straight photography movement. for example the timesquare below. This photo makes me feel very intense because of the use of Highly saturated colors, And the Dense pattern

last but not least, we have Uta Barth make abstract art By manipulating light, color, and focus, she creates images that are both abstract and evocative, inviting the viewer to reflect on the act of seeing. she also used the straight photography movement, for example, the “no title” photo below. This photo makes me feel very sad and unknown because it is very blurry and we can’t really see what is going on. And it looks like it is taken in a tear, swirling up in the eyes and unable to see anything clear.

abstract photos- blog post 2

we chose this photo because it shows a clear reflection from the pond of the tree and building. the use of lighting has made the reflection clearer, and some of the changes are making the photo black and white made the reflection clearer. This photo also gives me a very mysterious and unknown feeling because of the reflection that it creates and the way how it is upside down. So we can barely tell what the photo is about. And because of the black and white color,It makes the whole mood down.

this photo was taken from the es library bookshelf, the blur, and the different colors made the photo pop up. Some of the changes are, increasing the saturation and lighting. This photo gives me a feeling that it is taken at a grocery store because all of the Saturation color together are very intense. It also gives me a feeling that I want to explore more about this photo Because the photo is blurry, so we can’t really tell what is on the shelf. And so it makes me want to explore more

this is a Close-up photo of the plant, and there is a very clear vanishing point. some of the changes we made was decrease the lighting and increase the saturation. When I’m looking at this photo, I think it is dragging my eye into the center point,Because there is a very clear vanishing point. This photo also makes me feel very calm and relaxed and surrounded by everything Together with the use of color.
