Here is the three best photos out of all 60.
This first photo of John has a theme of freedom, where in the reality side we see John standing in a grass field facing a building, and in the reflected side we see him but with open arms. The building here has a symbol of work and humanity, while the plants around John symbolizes nature and freedom. In the reality side is the truth of the world, where most of the times people might not always see things so positively, while in the reflected side we can see that John is embracing the world that he is standing on with open arms. I chose to create a reflection because it shows that there is this side to the world that we can all enjoy and admire, that there are ways for us to see the world as a great one, instead of one with pressure and harshness.
This is a photo of Jungyoon and Jungyoon observing a wall that looks ancient and is underwater with a reflection of both of them. In this photo there is quite a lot of abstraction even if it doesn’t seem like that first glance. The dark depressing tone further emphasizes the theme of Lost in self, Lost in Own. The two Jungyoons are symbolizing the split personalities, having the Jungyoon on the left being the normal one on the outside, and the Jungyoon on the right symbolizing her other self, the more fake and fantasy-like one. We can also see that the reflection is actually off, meaning that the reflection shouldn’t look like that, we shouldn’t be able to see Jungyoon’s shoes in the reflection, but that just means that even the imperfections in our world could reflect the most beautiful and fantastic side of us.
In this photo we notice that Jungyoon is looking into the water’s reflection at herself, however in the reflection she is trying to reach back at her. That symbolizes another split personality, a locked one. In the reality side, Jungyoon is unable to be brave to reach out and try say new things, but in the reflection her free side wants to help her out by reaching out to her. All she need to do is to reach back into the water to overcome the problems and hardnesses of the world.
