Initial thoughts: I believe that the definition “Abstract photography can be defined as capturing images in which the subject isn’t the most interesting element” means that abstract photography, unlike normal pictures, do not focus on a subject but rather a larger, more inclusive whole picture. This allows the photo to be more interesting because that its scale and complexity can be greatly increased.
My own definition of abstraction: Abstraction is the art of emphasizing not only one small part of your photo but all of the elements in it, creating a picture of grander scale and complexity, not necessarily how many things are shown but how they connect with each other.
