Yes a bad picture can be great because in this instance, context is very important. The photographer clearly understands that the photo being taken is a “bad” photo, which shows that he has a level of understanding of photography, allowing him to make this claim. This changes the situation from a bad photographer that took a bad photo to a brilliant photographer highlighting aspects that make photos bad. This shows the importance of context as most would have concluded that this was a “bad” photo taken by a bad photographer without the context of the title or the artist.
