Mood board+ statement+ artist

mood board: The colors and the themes, and the blurred images and people, blurred other people contrasting colors. Paparazzis aesthetic ✨

Statement of intent:

My intent for this is to take pictures of people when they are walking, inspiring photos can be like “stalking people” while they are walking. And it’s like when u meet a celebrity and you take a photo of them when they aren’t looking. I will blur the people around them and just have them in the center of the photo, just like this photo (but instead it will be mainly focused on young children):

The name of this project for me will be Paparazzi. My goal is to take photos that resemble those taken by paparazzi. Paparazzi are photographers who specialize in capturing celebrities, public figures, or individuals of interest without their knowledge. These photographs are typically taken in public places, such as red carpet events, restaurants, shopping areas, or even outside the subject’s homes. Obviously, I am not going into their homes or taking photos in embarrassing circumstances. Instead, my goal is to capture people while they are at their most natural and beautiful self. I will achieve this by taking photos of people from different angles with different shadows as well as similar to Henri Cartier where i will find the “perfect” moment to take the photo.

Henri Cartier-Bresson was a french photographer considered to be the founder of modern photojournalism. He is best known for capturing decisive moments in everyday life. As you can see on the second photo, this photo is chosen taken at a very natural period. It is taken not from being asked to pose a certain way, but taken in a way where the person in the photo didn’t notice, which is similar to how a certain type of group of paparazzi is. It is black and white, with the person being in the center of the photo where everywhere else is blurred, where you can only see the main focus which is the person. Cartier shows  the importance of being present and alert to the random and not posed things around him. He will wait patiently for the perfect moment to take the photos, showing the of various visual elements in a, compelling composition.. And that is what I will be inspired to try to replicate.
