The American revolution was a long battle from the year 1763 until 1783. During this revolution, American colonists fought for independence and freedom from the Great British rule.
The main causes of this revolution were from the Coercive Acts. The Coercive Acts were made up of four laws enforced by the British Parliament that were made to keep the American Colonists in order. Instead, it caused Britain and American colonies to go into war.
The A.R. also had some significant effects and eventually lead to modern America.
