Statement of Intent

The name of this project is “Warmth of Light.” Through my photographs, I aim to explore the social issue of rapid societal progress. We are currently living in an era of unprecedented advancement, with the world changing dramatically every day. While this rapid progress reveals new leaders and innovative figures, it can also leave behind those who struggle to keep up with the times.

To address this, I plan to use various types of light in my photographs to evoke feelings of warmth, coolness, longing, and nostalgia through contrast. I hope to capture both the fading memories of childhood and the vibrant present in my work. By employing natural and artificial light in diverse colors, I aim to create images that offer comforting solace. For inspiration, I will draw from the emotionally impactful photographs of Imma Barrera, who effectively utilizes different lighting techniques to evoke emotions in her viewers.
