Humanity All Thirteen Notebook Pages

Notebook Pages For Book “All Thirteen”

There are two reading techniques (Making Connection and Descriptive Passages) in this note page. The definitions of each reading technique are under its title (highlight part). I utilized each reading technique with my book and wrote it into my notebook.

This Notebook page is basically about causes and effects. I used page numbers and primary text from the book as my evidence to support. Since this book was created by accident, there were a bunch of causes and effects.

The reading technique is on the top, after that I have my first central idea. I developed four evidence into four boxes and the conclusion is at the bottom.

I developed my second central idea on this page, and I used this whole page to put my evidence in.

The Incredible Cave Rescue of the Thai Boys’ Soccer Team(All Thirteen) is a 2020 nonfiction book by American author Christina Soontornvat. It describes the 2018 Tham Luang cave rescue.

In the beginning, the Wild Boars soccer team plans to spend only an hour or two exploring into the cave, but outside, rain has begun pouring down, and when they turn to leave, rising floodwaters block their path out. During the 16 days inside the cave, the boys faced the challenges of being trapped in a closed area, alone, and hunger. But however, through the efforts of the rescue team, the global attention, the event received, and the resilience and perseverance of the boys, all the thirteen Soccer Team finally got out of the cave safely.

Through out this book, it keeps highlighted the importance of communication and collaboration, it details the harrowing ordeal the boys faced, including the challenges of being trapped in the cave, the efforts of the rescue team, and the global attention the event received. Additionally it also convert the importance of using the best Method. If the rescuer did not choose to dive the boys out, all of the boy could die inside the cave.

Mark’s Found Poem

“Button Button Found Poem”

I read the article “Button, Button”, by Richard Matheason. And I created a found poem for the story. I put shadow behind the words that I marked out so my poem reader could understand where to read. I think it’s a story related to human nature. In the story, a mystery man named Mr. Steward gave Norma and Arthur a button that if you pressed it, it could kill someone you don’t know, but you could receive a payment of $50000. The conflict in the story devolved from the fact that Norma wants to press the button to receive the $50000 payment and her husband Arthur does not. I feel like the conflict in the story starts on page 4, when the author wrote “Norma closed her eyes. Fifty thousand dollars, she thought.” This is the moment when She was tempted, Norma thought about the Fifty thousand dollars, and she knows that wasn’t a small number of monies. I marked out the sentence “For $5000” in my poem. The conflict of this story mostly feels like a person vs person. Most of the story is from Norma arguing with Author about pressing the button. In my poem, I did add sentence that Author was arguing Norma, for example “what did you mean?”,”I don’t understand you.” Author is a very observant person who keeps an eye on other people on earth. But Norma’s three views are very wrong, but she is still thinking about their family which makes this conflict relate to person vs supernature. When human beings are poor, normal human beings cannot control but want money, it is a natural human phenomenon and so in the story, the main character Norma is fighting with her desire for money, and this is a sign of internal conflict. So, in my found poem, I puts signs of money colored with yellow on the top left corner, also I draw lots of money sign on the very back and I think these money sign shows the motivation of the conflict of the story “Button, Button”, which is the fact that Norma wanted the money. But why does Norma want the $50000 so much? And now as the conflict improved, it will now relate to internal conflict. Norma and her husband Arthur are normal citizen, and they have their desire, in page seven “That I’d like for us to go to Europe. Like for us to have a cottage on the island. Like for us to have a nicer apartment, nicer furniture, nicer clothes, a car. Like for us to finally have a baby, for that matter.” Norma wanted these things that she could not get, and so she is fighting against her desire. So in my found poem, I puts some elements that appeared in the story on my poem for example, the callphone, a cash represent the $500000, a model of the big button, and the cottage on the island that Aurthor and Norma wanted to buy, I added these elements because these stuff are things that always attracting Norma to press the button, these things makes Norma greedy and selfish. I also marked out sentence in my found poem “Why am I doing this?”,“Return the button unit?” I marked these sentence out because they shows the internal conflict of Norma, she is fighting against her desire. And that is why it is also an internal conflict.
