Statement of Intent

My vision

Humanity in Action

The purpose of my triptych is to address the wonder of humans in their everyday lives. Humans are all different and are the epitome of an honest reality. I want my audience to be able to view these people going about their lives and get a glimpse of the different emotions that people feel when faced with reality. I want people to recognise that these people in their own lives are beautiful. I want people to have a sense of understanding and reflect on humanity for a split second when they look at my presentation. For inspiration, I will try to find a photographer who captures people and explores realism. I want to try and find photographs that explore a sharper focus with contrast in the elements of the photo. I believe that humans are unique and we should try to understand and appreciate the people in this world. Learning to understand or trying to understand other people’s lives can make us better people.

The Photography Of Fan Ho

These four images are the works of photographer, Fan Ho. In his photographs, Fan Ho captures people in their natural environments going about everyday tasks. He focuses on the lighting and contrast in each photo and how that environment as highlighted by the surroundings impacts and adds to the portrayal of the people in the photo.
